Our Vision

Mission Statement:
Our mission is to provide a non-profit, community-based arboretum for the purposes of education, recreation, conservation, and the encouragement of cooperation within the Platteville community.
The Organization
•PCA will be maintained as a 501 (c) (3) non-profit
•PCA Board of Directors will be community members who represent various aspects of the community
•All members of the Platteville community will be members of the PCA, while lifetime members and corporate sponsors will be recognized as special contributors
•The PCA Board of Directors will remain non-political in the sense that we will always work to cooperate not divide and isolate
•The PCA will be financially sustainable and fiscally responsible
•The PCA will exist primarily as a cooperative of various landowners, businesses, and the City of Platteville that will work together to manage the lands along the Rountree Branch
•The PCA will acquire and own land when the opportunity exists
The Trail
•PCA will support the completion, expansion, and maintenance of a multi-use trail system associated with the Rountree Branch Corridor
•The trail will connect the community to the arboretum
•The trail will connect the UWP trail system with the Belmont to Platteville trail with adjoining segments within the Rountree Branch Watershed
•The trail will be surfaced to allow access and use by all community members
•The trail will have lighting along its length
•The surrounding vegetation along the trail will be managed for safety, trail maintenance, and native vegetation
•There will be educational signage, safety signs, benches, and points of interest along the trail
The Arboretum
•The arboretum will exist along the Rountree Branch and its tributaries in cooperation with landowners, businesses, and City of Platteville
•The arboretum will provide resources to the community that will engage community members with the outdoors
•The arboretum will provide resources to the community that will educate community members about natural resources
Conservation
•The PCA will support, and engage in, conservation within the Rountree Branch Watershed
